Spurgeons 'Their Time'

Public, Corporate & Community Art

Project Information
These workshops were held within HMP Holloway and HMP Pentonville during family visit days. We worked with prisoners and their families to explore the introspective and reflective nature of their silhouettes through fun and interactive art activities. The activities inspired families to create poses that represented ‘positive parenting’ and what this means to them.

Using the photographs of the prisoners and their children we produced life-sized acrylic chalkboards for use within the prisons visitor centres and visits halls. We also created a thought provoking sculpture which uses mirrored glass to produce the illusion of a prisoner with or without their child depending on the angle the sculpture is viewed from.
